Rob Callister with manx FlagCallister wants committee to scrutinise proposed laws

An Onchan MHK says he has serious concerns over some clauses within the Assisted Dying Bill.

Rob Callister will bring a motion to the House of Keys tomorrow hoping to establish a committee to scrutinise the proposed legislation.

The motion, as written on the Order Paper, is: ‘That the Clauses of the Assisted Dying Bill 2023 be referred to a Committee of five Members to consider and report by the end of February 2024.’

On Manx Radio’s Mannin Line this lunchtime he said there’s one clause regarding inquests he has a particular issue with – and he wants to know what effect it will have on insurance:
