Blog Oct 16I really got a feel and an understanding of the role of being an MHK this week, the only part left to add is any departmental responsibilities. That’s if I am offered a role in the new administration by the department Ministers.

I guess I can describe this week as a box of liquorice allsorts, because there are so many different parts to the overall role of being an MHK, and you just don’t know what’s going to happen next…

My week started with a coffee with a good friend who wasn’t successful in the election campaign last month. I also had several Constituent meetings and it was a real privilege to show people around the Tynwald Court and House of Keys Chambers this week.

The 12 new MHKs also attended further training courses this week. I am also currently researching two big topics that are very close to my heart, which I am hoping to bring before Tynwald in November, December or January.

It’s been a busy week but it’s been a fantastic week – already looking forward to next week and the first real sitting of Tynwald.
